Kudlow Does not Expect China to Retaliate Against Latest U.S. Tariffs
WASHINGTON, Aug 25 (Reuters) - White House monetary counselor Larry Kudlow said on Sunday that he doesn't anticipate that China should fight back against extra taxes on Chinese products that U.S. President Donald Trump reported Friday.
Asked on CBS' "Face the Nation" program on the off chance that he anticipated counter, Kudlow stated: I don't. I think he was an activity to react to their activity. So I question whether they're going to make another stride. I have not heard their official reaction yet. We'll need to keep a watch out."
Trump on Friday put an extra 5% obligation on some $550 billion in focused Chinese products, hours after China divulged retaliatory levies on $75 billion worth of U.S. products. (Detailing by David Morgan; Editing by Lisa Shumaker)
