Tim Cook Donates Nearly $5 Million of Apple Shares to Charity
Apple CEO Tim Cook has given 23,700 Apple offers to philanthropy, as indicated by an SEC recording distributed on Monday.
At Monday's opening cost of $205.86, the gift turns out to an estimation of $4.87 million. The offers were held through Cook's trust, as indicated by the SEC documents.
Apple declined to remark on the philanthropy to which Cook gave the offers. He gave about a similar measure of stock last August to undisclosed philanthropy last August.
Cook holds 854,849 portions of Apple, as indicated by the documenting.
Cook has given to the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights and the Human Rights Campaign before and has said he intends to give his whole fortune to philanthropy.
Independently, Apple reported on Monday through a Cook tweet that it intends to give to battle the flames seething in the Amazon rainforest. The declarations are not associated. Apple declined to state which philanthropy it's giving to or the sum it intends to give.
