Realme C2 Update Brings September Security Patch, Digital Wellbeing, Other New Features
Realme has started rolling out a new update to its older Realme C2 smartphone in India. The update brings Google Digital Wellbeing, redesigned notification center along with some other improvements.
The update comes with version number RMX1941EX_11.A.17 and it update brings September 2019 security patch as well. The official changelog reveals that the update adds the manual lock feature by long-press the power button. It also adds a manual limit for network speed of hotspot connected device. The update adds the ability to display the data consumed by connected and it also comes with customizable data consumed reminder.
The update also brings Google Digital Wellbeing feature. Additionally, it also optimizes lock screen clock widget style and it also adds date and weather widget. It also optimizes the smart assistant interface.
Moving on, the new update also brings redesigned notification center and status bar and it also the ability to swipe left or right to remove the message prompt after receiving the message.
Since it is a staged rollout, the update will be randomly pushed to a limited number of users and will have a broader rollout in coming days after making sure there are no critical bugs. If there is no critical bugs are found, the full rollout will be completed in the upcoming days.
For the specs, the Realme C2 features a 6.1-inch HD+ dewdrop notch display with a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor.
It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery and it runs on ColorOS 6.0, which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. For optics, Realme C2 is backed by a dual-camera setup with a combination of 13-megapixel primary lens along with a 2-megapixel shooter. For the front side t, there is a 5-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling.

The C2 is a budget offering from Realme and is the successor of the Realme C1. It has sported a 6.1-inch HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. It has the best viewing angles and also offers the option to change the color temperature of the display.
The Realme C2 is well designed and has a diamond-cut pattern on the back that makes it look premium. The phone is compact and feels comfortable to hold in the hand. It contains a dual-camera setup at the back which consists of a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
It has Powered the smartphone is .a MediaTek Helio P22 SoC and comes in two variants- 2GB RAM with 16GB storage, and 3GB RAM with 32GB of storage. The Realme C2 has the 3GB RAM 32GB variant and found it to be powerful enough for day-to-day tasks but couldn't run big games smoothly.
The Realme C2 runs ColourOS 6 on top of Android 9 Pie which is the latest version of Android. We found some apps preinstalled on the smartphone which could be uninstalled easily. Realme also offers some useful features in the form of driving and riding modes.
Realme has packed in a 4000mAh battery which delivers very good battery life. Realme C2 supplied 10W charger is also quick enough to top the battery up. The cameras on the Realme C2 deliver average performance. The smartphone was not consistent in getting the exposure right in daylight but suffered in low-light.
For the asking price of Rs. 5,999 the base variant of the Realme C2 does look impressive on paper but the variant we tested was priced at Rs. 7,999. If you are looking at the higher variant of the Realme C2, you can look at the Redmi 7 and the Nokia 5.1 Plus as the alternatives.
