Doctor-Doctor-Season-4

Doctor Doctor Season 4 has been full of romance, fresh starts, and humor but we've saved the best drama for an action-packed finale tonight.

The love triangle between Hugh (Rodger Corser), Penny (Hayley McElhinney) and Jarrod (Dustin Clare) will come to an emotional conclusion, Matt (Ryan Johnson) and Charlie (Nicole da Silva) will take a step forward in their relationship, Meryl (Tina Bursill) will question her purpose and Ajax (Matt Castley) and Hayley's (Chloe Bayliss) marital problems will come to ahead.

Hugh, Penny, and Jarrod

Hugh had a second chance to declare his feelings for Penny but her car crashed into another vehicle just as he was gathering his thoughts.

An exclusive preview scene of the finale shows Penny assisting the other victims of the accident before collapsing into Hugh's arms. Surely this would be enough to make Hugh see sense and put his ego aside to tell Penny he wants to be with her.

However, Penny has not long survived the crash when Jarrod arrives to inform her he's got a job in Broome and they're leaving town. Another reason for Hugh to pluck up the courage — the question is whether he will actually say anything.

If Hugh does confess he might find he has a fight on his hands because Penny has decided to commit to her marriage. This came after some interesting advice from Meryl. She compared marriage to jail and told Penny she needed a cellmate rather than a soulmate. Penny knows a life with Hugh would be a roller coaster of emotions and Jarrod would be the sensible choice for a comfortable life. Will she follow through with her choice?

Matt and Charlie

This couple is in a very different place in the finale compared to the first episode of the season. Then, Matt was with April (Miranda Tapsell) and trying to conceive, and Charlie had just returned to town after becoming a successful romance novelist.

It soon became obvious that though Matt and Charlie want different things, they do want each other. So April fled town after a miscarriage made the truth devastatingly clear, and Matt and Charlie reunited soon after.

Together again and loving life, Charlie will lay her cards on the table. She wants her relationship with Matt to be the different second time around and to embrace life. This will inspire Matt to come up up with exciting plans for their future. But will Charlie say agree?

Ajax and Hayley

The young couple has been at odds ever since Ajax found out Hayley lied about pole dancing classes. She's now managing the dancers at the Pretty Titty bar, which Ajax also isn't thrilled about. He even suggested divorce after misinterpreting Hugh's relationship advice.

The couple might not have to worry about the bar's impact on their marriage much longer though. Locals are ramping up the fight to shut it down and putting pressure on Meryl to use her influence as mayor. And the response to Hayley's efforts to stop the dancers from being exploited will challenge her determination to work there.

Meryl

She may have just survived a near-death experience but Meryl is back at it, facing a battle with maintaining the political support she has for the bar. With Jarrod set to leave the town she will lose his backing, and Rod Eagle's (Patrick Wilson) determined to not only keep his dream business but ramp up it's offering.

On top of that Meryl is keen to get Hugh back on track to fulfilling his destiny. She will make him an offer that could lead the surgeon to seek his fortune outside of Why hope. Will he accept her offer?
