Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar (transl. Sandeep and Pinky Have Absconded) is an upcoming Indian black comedy film directed and produced by Dibakar Banerjee. Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra play lead roles. The filming began on 7 November 2017 in Mahipalpur. Initially scheduled for release on 31 July 2020, the release was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India
The film follows the story of a man and woman who represent two completely different Indians. Pinkesh Dahiya "Pinky" is a Haryanavi Police Officer while Sandeep Kaur is someone from the Corporate world. However, they are united by their mistrust, suspicion, and hate for each other.
Yash Raj Films announced the film on 3 July 2017. It marks the third collaborations between Kapoor and Chopra after they starred together in Ishaqzaade (2012), which was followed by the two pairings up again in Namaste England (2018).
On 30 October 2017, Arjun Kapoor shared an image of his character which is shown to be a cop. On 27 March 2018, the second look of both actors came out giving a glimpse of their different worlds. Filming took place at the nearby places (Pithoragarh) of the Indo-Nepal border. Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra’s upcoming release Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar was scheduled to hit the theatres on March 20, 2020. The makers had finally come down to one date after the film had gotten postponed multiple times because of reasons unknown.
When recently the release date of the film was announced by the team of Sandeep Aur Pinky, the audience became super excited. However, looks like the coronavirus has acted like a bummer for more than a couple of projects in Bollywood. Today it was officially announced that because of the outbreak of the coronavirus, Sandeep Aur Pinky release date has been postponed indefinitely.
The makers further said that keeping in mind the safety of the people, they have come to this decision. The official statement read, “Given the #CoronaVirus [#COVID19] outbreak in the country, we have decided to postpone the release of Dibakar Banerjee’s #SandeepAurPinkyFaraar. The health and safety of everyone are of utmost importance at this time.” Produced by Yash Raj Films, the film is directed, Dibaker Banerjee. Well, hopefully, the audience will get to watch this one sometime soon.

Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar Release Date
The makers of Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar postponed the release of the film amidst the coronavirus outbreak. They issued a statement on their respective Twitter profiles on Saturday and informed their fans that they have decided to delay the film's release.
The makers and the cast have not announced the new release date of Sandeep Aur Pinky, which was earlier slated to release on March 20. The statement, shared by the official handle of Yash Raj Films and lead actors Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra, read, "Given the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the country, we have decided to postpone the release of Dibakar Banerjee's Sandeep Aur Pinky. The health and safety of everyone are of utmost importance at this time."
The official trailer was released by Yash Raj Films on 4 March 2020. Initially scheduled for release on 20 March 2020, the film release has been indefinitely postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
