Satyameva Jayate 2 is an upcoming 2020 Indian Hindi-language vigilante action film directed by Milap Zaveri and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Nikkhil Advani. A sequel of the 2018 film Satyameva Jayate, the film stars John Abraham and Divya Khosla Kumar. The concept is based on the fight against injustice and misuse of power. The film was announced on 27 September 2018 and it was also confirmed that Abraham will also perform high action scenes. The film is slated to be released on Gandhi Jayanti 2020.
Milap Zaveri is directing the film. The film was officially announced by Abraham on 27 September 2018. For the female lead role, in August 2019, director-producer Divya Khosla Kumar was finalized for the role, marking her comeback to acting after several years after Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo. New Delhi: After the Maharashtra government gave the green to Bollywood to resume shoots post the coronavirus lockdown, the makers of Satyameva Jayate began working on the film starting Tuesday. Satyameva Jayate 2, starring John Abraham in the lead role, is the sequel to his 2018 hit Satyamev Jayate.
The film is among the first few projects that will go on floors after the lockdown break. Announcing the good news on social media, director Milap Zaveri shared two photographs of himself and John Abraham and wrote: "Reunited with my Hulk, my Hero, my Ram, my John Abraham after 3 months! Satyameva Jayate 2 on the way!"
Satyameva Jayate 2, which is slated to release later this year, also stars Divya Khosla Kumar. Earlier, sharing his first look from the film, John wrote: "The truth prevails again. Returning next Gandhi Jayanti, October 2, 2020 - Satyameva Jayate 2
Satyameva Jayate 2 will be John Abraham's second film to resume shoot after getting approval from Maharashtra, as well as the Telangana government. His gangster-thriller Mumbai Saga will resume 12-day filming in Hyderabad next month, reported Mumbai Mirror. Director Sanjay Gupta told the publication that the cast, which also includes Emraan Hashmi, Jackie Shroff, and Suniel Shetty, has agreed to return to work post the lockdown.
Satyameva Jayate 2 will go on floors after John Abraham will complete the shoot of Mumbai Saga in July. In an interview with The Indian Express, Milap Zaveri said: "We are planning to roll as soon as possible. The moment John finishes his Mumbai Saga shoot next month, we begin immediately after that. And the team is prepared to take all precautions and follow all rules."
Co-produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani, Satyameva Jayate 2 is scheduled to release on Gandhi Jayanti i.e October 2.
Actor John Abraham and director Milap Zaveri have teamed up once again to bring the sequel to Satyameva Jayate. The last year’s Independence Day release was received well by the audience at the Box Office and now, as reported by news daily, the team has reunited for its sequel. The report added that Satyameva Jayate 2 will mark the return of actor-director Divya Khosla Kumar on-screen.
She made her debut in 2004 war-drama with Akshay Kumar and Bobby Deol in Ab Tumhare Vatan Saathiyo (2004). However, Divya got married to T-Series’ owner Bhushan Kumar in the following year and stayed away from the films only to return as a director with youth musical drama Yaariyan in the year 2014 and Sanam Rein 2016.

A source close to the development told the daily that Milap Zaveri has written a strong character for Divya and she’s excited to begin the shooting of the film soon. The report also added that it’s going to be a family entertainer and will be an out-and-out commercial film like its prequel.
It quoted the source saying, “Milap had fleshed out strong characters for John and Manoj Bajpayee in the first part. This time, he has written a memorable leading role for Divya. What drew her to the project is that the role is integral to the narrative and will present her in an interesting light.
